Fishtoft is a civil parish just to the east of Boston in Lincolnshire, lying on the edge of the reclaimed The Fens and close to The Wash. The flat, low-lying landscape of drained fen and grazing marsh defines the area, with arable farming and market gardening prominent and easy commuter links into Boston for services and employment.
The parish has a long history reflected in its medieval parish church of St Guthlac and place-names that hint at former salt-marsh and fishing activity; centuries of drainage, sea defences and land reclamation have shaped local life. Today Fishtoft combines a quietly rural character and a small village community with modern housing on the edge of the historic port town of Boston, while coastal and fenland habitats remain important for walkers and birdwatchers.
