Heckington is a village and civil parish in the district of North Kesteven, set in rural central Lincolnshire, England. It sits in a largely agricultural landscape on the edge of the fenlands and has the feel of a working farming community with small local businesses, a village hall and a tight‑knit social life typical of Lincolnshire villages.
The parish is best known for its striking 19th‑century windmill, the only eight‑sailed stone tower mill in the country, which survives as a working mill and museum and acts as the community’s cultural focal point. Aside from the mill, Heckington combines agricultural and commuter influences, with regular local events such as the annual agricultural show and community activities centred on the church and village amenities.
