Bardney is a village and civil parish in the district of West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, situated roughly ten miles east of Lincoln. It sits on the banks of the River Witham in a low-lying agricultural landscape, with riverside paths and open farmland defining much of its character.
The village is notable for the site of the medieval Benedictine Bardney Abbey, whose early origins give the place a long historic pedigree, and remnants and earthworks still mark the area. Today Bardney combines a farming economy with a commuter population, a compact local community and regular village activities, and is popular for riverside walks, wildlife-watching and a quiet rural lifestyle.
