Dingle (electoral ward) sits on the south side of Liverpool in Merseyside, tucked between Princes Park and the River Mersey. It grew up in the 19th century as a dense, working‑class neighbourhood providing housing for dockworkers and retains many rows of Victorian terraces, making it a recognisable inner‑city pocket of the city.
Locally the ward has a strong community identity with historic Irish and maritime connections, a mix of small shops and pubs, and a lively tradition of grassroots groups and civic activity. Like much of south Liverpool it experienced post‑industrial decline in the late 20th century but has seen waves of regeneration and housing renewal, and benefits from close links to the waterfront and central city facilities.
