Twydall is a ward on the eastern edge of Gillingham in the unitary authority of Medway, north Kent. Predominantly residential, it contains a mix of inter‑war and post‑war council housing alongside later private developments, with local shops, primary schools and community facilities. Its position between the urban Medway towns and open countryside - close to places such as Capstone Farm Country Park and the tidal River Medway - gives residents easy access to green spaces and riverside walks while still being well connected to town amenities.
Historically the area grew from farmland during the 20th century to provide housing linked to the nearby naval dockyards and local industry, which helped shape a strong local identity. Today the ward is largely family‑oriented with active community groups, sports clubs and modest local commerce, and regular bus and road links into the wider Medway conurbation support commuter and leisure travel.
