Lexham is a small, quietly rural parish in Breckland, Norfolk, England, made up of the two tiny settlements of East Lexham and West Lexham. It sits a few miles west of Swaffham in the distinctive sandy soils of the Brecks, where arable fields, pine plantations and pockets of heathland give the landscape a slightly wind‑blown, open character.
The area’s centrepiece is the country house of Lexham Hall and its parkland, which alongside surviving medieval parish churches help give the parish a long‑rooted feel; otherwise much of local life is agricultural, with a small, close‑knit community and a steady flow of people commuting to nearby market towns. The combination of quiet lanes, estate woodland and Brecks habitat also makes it a pleasant spot for walking and wildlife watching.
