Castle Acre is a small village and civil parish in the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, England. It is best known for the impressive Norman motte-and-bailey castle and the ruined Cluniac priory, both prominent historic sights that stand over the village; the settlement also sits beside the River Nar and lies close to the long-distance footpath Peddars Way, so it attracts walkers as well as history enthusiasts.
The village retains a medieval street pattern with flint and timber cottages, a small market-place, pubs and tearooms, and its economy is a mix of agriculture and heritage-driven tourism. Set in rural West Norfolk, Castle Acre has a compact, well-preserved character that makes it a popular day‑out for visitors interested in history and countryside walks.
