Burgh St. Margaret is a small rural village a few miles west of Great Yarmouth in the low-lying agricultural landscape of Norfolk, England. Set among marshes and arable fields and within easy reach of the coast and the Norfolk Broads, it feels very much like a peaceful country settlement while remaining close to the services and seafront attractions of Great Yarmouth.
Historically centred on its parish church dedicated to St Margaret, the village retains medieval roots and an economy that is still largely agricultural, with a number of residents commuting into nearby towns. Community life tends to revolve around the church, village hall and local groups, and the surrounding marshes and lanes are popular for birdwatching and quiet walks, reflecting the long relationship between local settlement and the changing coastal landscape.
