Dersingham is a large village and civil parish in the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, in coastal Norfolk, England, sitting a few miles inland from The Wash and immediately adjacent to the royal Sandringham estate. The village is fringed by Dersingham Bog, a nationally important nature reserve of acid mire, wet heath and woodland that attracts birdwatchers and walkers and gives the area a distinctly sandy, seaside-heath character.
The community has traditional rural roots - farming and estate-related work historically dominated local life - but today many residents commute to nearby towns while local shops, a primary school, village hall and pubs keep a strong social scene. There’s a noticeable historic feel around the parish church and older buildings, and the proximity to Sandringham and the nature reserves also brings a steady trickle of visitors, especially in summer.
