Sandringham is a small village and civil parish in the borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, England. It sits a few miles inland from the North Norfolk coast, tucked into the extensive Sandringham Estate of parkland, farmland and woodlands; the estate’s lanes and public footpaths are popular with walkers and the area supports a notable variety of birdlife and countryside habitats.
The parish is best known for Sandringham House, the private country residence of the British royal family since the nineteenth century, and for the nearby St Mary Magdalene Church, which figures in royal and local life. Parts of the estate are open to visitors - gardens, a museum and seasonal events - and estate management, farming, forestry and tourism all play a role in the local economy while the village retains a distinctly rural community character.
