Alne is a compact village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England, sitting a short drive north of York and close to the market town of Easingwold. It lies beside the A19 corridor and is surrounded by the rolling arable and pasture landscape typical of the area, giving it a distinctly rural feel despite good road links to larger centres.
Historically agricultural, Alne retains a mix of traditional stone cottages and later housing, with a medieval parish church and active village amenities such as a pub, village hall and local clubs that keep community life lively. It was once served by a railway station until the mid-20th century and today is popular both with local farmers and with commuters and walkers who enjoy exploring the North Yorkshire countryside.
