Redmire is a small village and civil parish in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, England, set among the rolling limestone pastures and drystone walls of the Yorkshire Dales. It sits a few miles west of Leyburn and close to the A684, making it a quiet base for walkers, cyclists and visitors exploring the dale.
The community remains traditionally agricultural, with sheep and beef farming shaping the landscape, while tourism linked to the countryside and local food - notably Wensleydale cheese - helps the local economy. The surviving Victorian railway line, the Wensleydale Railway, reaches its western end at Redmire and brings heritage trains and day‑trippers; the village retains stone cottages and farmsteads that reflect its long rural history and close‑knit social life.
