Sharow is a compact village and civil parish set in the rolling countryside of North Yorkshire, England, a couple of miles east of Ripon and close to the banks of the River Ure. The centre retains a traditional feel with stone houses, a historic parish church and a number of listed buildings that reflect its long agricultural past in the Vale of York.
Today Sharow blends farming and small local enterprises with a number of residents who commute to nearby towns such as Ripon and Harrogate. It has an active village community with a hall, clubs and occasional fĂȘtes, and the surrounding lanes and riverside countryside make it popular with walkers and riders while efforts to conserve its character remain important locally.
