Pudsey is a historic market town and outer suburb in the metropolitan borough of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, sitting on higher ground between Leeds and Bradford. It has a compact Victorian centre, open spaces such as Pudsey Park, and an active local community with regular events and a traditional annual gala; transport-wise it is served by New Pudsey station on the Calder Valley line, making commutes into the nearby cities straightforward.
Historically the town grew during the industrial era with wool and textile activity, and while much of that industry has gone the area now functions largely as a commuter and residential hub with local shops, light industry and community amenities. Civic landmarks like the town hall and the park, together with enthusiastic local groups, give Pudsey a distinct village-like feel despite its proximity to larger urban centres.
