Tockwith is a small village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, set in the open arable landscape of the Vale of York a short drive from the city of York. The village sits beside rolling farmland and lanes rather than a major river, and is part of a largely rural patchwork of villages and market towns with good road links that make it popular with commuters as well as long‑established farming families.
Historically the area is noted for its connection to the Second World War: the nearby former RAF airfield at Marston Moor (often associated with Tockwith) played a role in military flying and is remembered locally with a small museum and memorials. Today Tockwith retains a strong community feel with a village hall, primary school, pub and sports clubs, while the local economy mixes agriculture, small businesses and residents who work in larger centres nearby.
