Blidworth is a village and civil parish in the district of Newark and Sherwood, Nottinghamshire, England, lying on the northern edge of the old woodland of Sherwood Forest. Its setting gives easy access to wooded walks and the Robin Hood associations of the area, while a historic parish church and remnants of older village architecture hint at a long local past.
Once part of the county's coal‑mining belt, Blidworth still bears a strong mining heritage with community institutions and social clubs that grew from that era. Since the pits closed it has become more of a commuter village for nearby Mansfield and Nottingham, but retains a lively local life with sports clubs, pubs and village events that reflect its working‑class and rural roots.
