East Bridgford is a large village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe district of Nottinghamshire, lying close to the River Trent on gently undulating lowland. The village has grown around an old crossing point and retains a mix of period cottages and later houses, with its landscape still influenced by surrounding arable farmland and river meadows.
Locally it feels like a self-contained community with a village hall, sports clubs and a popular cricket side, regular social events and a couple of traditional pubs; economically many residents combine farming and small local businesses with commuting into nearby towns and Nottingham. Historic buildings and a compact village centre give it a conservation-area character, while community activities and annual events keep a strong village spirit.
