Shilton is a small rural village and civil parish in West Oxfordshire, in the county of Oxfordshire in England, lying on the edge of the Cotswolds. The landscape is typical rolling limestone countryside with a compact village core, stone cottages and farmsteads that make it popular with walkers and people seeking the quieter side of the Cotswolds.
Historically the settlement has medieval roots and retains a number of older buildings and a parish church, while agriculture remains an important part of the local economy. Today many residents commute to larger towns for work, and village life is quietly social with a village hall, community events and active efforts to conserve the area's historic character and rural setting.
