Waverley is a relatively new mixed‑use neighbourhood on former industrial land at the edge of Rotherham, created as part of a long‑running regeneration programme. It blends housing, business units and retail with deliberately generous green space and cycling routes, giving it a modern, planned feel and decent links into the town and the wider motorway network.
Catcliffe is a small, historic village on the banks of the River Rother close to Rotherham, best known for the rare surviving Catcliffe Glass Cone - an 18th‑century industrial relic that speaks to the area’s coal, glass and steel past. Today Catcliffe is largely residential with a tight‑knit local community, while its industrial heritage and riverside setting remain important features of local identity.
