Linacre is an inner‑urban ward in the metropolitan borough of Sefton in Merseyside, covering part of the town of Bootle close to Liverpool and the eastern approaches to the Port of Liverpool. It is largely residential, with a mix of Victorian terraces and post‑war council housing, punctuated by small parks and local shopping parades, and is well connected to the city by road and public transport.
Historically shaped by maritime trade and 19th‑century industry, the area suffered from post‑industrial decline and economic challenges after dock closures, but has active regeneration schemes, community groups and local projects aimed at improving housing, services and employment - so it remains a neighbourhood with a strong local identity and civic engagement.
