Manor is an electoral ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, on Merseyside to the north of Liverpool and close to the River Mersey. It is largely residential, with a mix of Victorian terraces and post‑war housing, interspersed with small shopping parades, schools and pockets of green space that give it a suburban feel while keeping good public transport links into the city.
Like much of the area, Manor has roots in Merseyside’s industrial growth and later periods of redevelopment; local life is shaped more by community groups, churches and sports clubs than by large employers, and many residents commute into Liverpool or nearby commercial centres. Regeneration and public service provision have been ongoing priorities, leaving the ward with a blend of long‑standing local character and contemporary change.
