Clun is a small, sparsely populated ward in south‑west Shropshire, England, centred on the ancient market town in the narrow valley of the River Clun. The ward covers a wide rural area of rolling hills and wooded valleys within the Shropshire Hills AONB, giving it a sense of remoteness and attractive landscape that draws walkers and country visitors as well as supporting traditional hill‑farming.
The built heritage is striking for such a small place: the remains of Clun Castle and other historic features testify to a long borderland history, while the local economy remains largely agricultural with a growing contribution from tourism and small local services. Socially it has the close‑knit feel of rural life, with village halls, pubs and voluntary groups playing a big role in community life and seasonal events that keep local traditions alive.
