Chalvey sits on the western edge of Slough, historically a little village beside the Bath Road that was gradually absorbed as industry and the railway expanded. It’s well placed for transport, a short drive from the M4 and Heathrow, and close to the large commercial cluster around the Slough Trading Estate.
Much of the local housing dates from the 19th and early 20th centuries and the area has a lively, diverse community with strong South Asian cultural presence, local shops and community groups. Like parts of outer Slough, it has faced economic and social challenges and has been the focus of regeneration and investment, while still retaining local parks such as Chalvey Park and a recognisable village footprint.
