Colnbrook is a village and civil parish on the eastern edge of Slough, sitting close to the boundary with Greater London and just a few miles from Heathrow Airport. It lies beside the little watercourse from which it takes its name, the Colne Brook, and is squeezed between major transport arteries such as the M4 and M25, with the old coaching route of the Bath Road running nearby.
Despite its village feel and a small historic core with older brick and timber buildings, Colnbrook has a strongly mixed character: warehouses, light industry and logistics businesses sit alongside residential streets, reflecting its role in the south‑east’s transport economy. The area is marked by the tension between community life and airport/road noise, and many locals point to the conservation interest of the older centre and the practical advantages of being so well connected.
