Abbey Hulton is a south-eastern suburb of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, sitting within the wider the Potteries conurbation. It is mainly residential with pockets of green space, local shopping parades and easy road links into the city, giving it a suburban feel while still close to urban amenities.
The area takes its name from the remains of a medieval Cistercian abbey and later developed through the county’s industrial era, with strong historical ties to coal mining and the pottery trades. Today it is a mixed, working‑class community with active local groups, schools and modest regeneration projects aimed at improving housing and facilities while acknowledging its industrial and historic roots.
