Kidsgrove is a town in the borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, in Staffordshire, England, sitting on the northern fringe of the Stoke-on-Trent conurbation and close to the Staffordshire Moorlands. The town is shaped by waterways and transport: the Trent and Mersey Canal and the famous Harecastle Tunnel run through the area, and the M6 and local rail links make it easy to reach nearby centres and the foothills of the Peak District.
Historically Kidsgrove expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries around canal trade, coal mining and the pottery industries that define nearby The Potteries, and traces of that industrial past remain in its housing, canalside infrastructure and local museums. Today it’s a mix of commuter suburb and local community with light industry, parks and towpaths popular for walking and cycling, plus active sports clubs and neighbourhood events that give the town a strong local identity.
