Sproughton is a village and civil parish in the district of Babergh, Suffolk, England, set beside the River Gipping a few miles to the west of Ipswich. Its riverside location and surrounding farmland give it a distinctly rural feel, while good road links to Ipswich mean many residents commute for work.
The settlement has a compact historic core with several older buildings and a parish church, and the local community remains active with village events, clubs and a village hall. Economically the area is still influenced by agriculture and small local enterprises, and recreational riverside walks and nearby country lanes make it popular with visitors seeking a taste of Suffolk countryside close to the town.
