Belhus is a ward in the borough of Thurrock in Essex, lying on the north side of the Thames Estuary. It’s a largely suburban mix of post‑war and newer housing set alongside notable green space - including Belhus Park and remnants of the old Belhus estate - which give the area a more rural feel than some neighbouring parts of the borough.
The ward sits close to major retail and employment centres associated with the Thames Gateway regeneration, and many residents commute into London or to local industrial and service jobs. Socially it reflects Thurrock’s diversity, with community facilities and ongoing local efforts to balance housing, parks and economic development.
