Helmdon is a small village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, set on the edge of the Northamptonshire uplands close to the Oxfordshire border. Its compact historic core of stone and thatched cottages, narrow lanes and an old parish church gives the village a distinctly rural, picture‑postcard character.
Historically the area was linked with ironstone quarrying and local railway branches, traces of which can still be seen in the landscape; today the local economy is largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns such as Banbury. An active community life around the village hall, pub and annual events, together with nearby footpaths and countryside views, make Helmdon a quiet but sociable spot in rural Northamptonshire.
