Natland is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Westmorland and Furness in north‑west England, just south of Kendal on the floodplain of the River Kent and close to the eastern edge of the Lake District. Its setting combines farmland, hedgerows and lanes with open views to the fells, so it feels rural while being handy for the town and the national park.
The village has a lively community life centred on a village hall and school, and the area is historically interesting thanks to the nearby Roman fort at Watercrook; economically it remains rooted in agriculture while benefiting from commuters and visitors using it as a quieter base for exploring the Lakes. Stone cottages, a compact village green and local events give Natland a distinctly unpretentious, village character.
