Keady is a small town and electoral ward in south County Armagh, within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon district of Northern Ireland. Set in a drumlin-dotted rural landscape close to the border with the Republic of Ireland, it grew up in the 19th century around mills and a thriving linen and textile industry, and some converted mill buildings and industrial place‑names still mark that past.
The area has a strong local identity, with churches, shops, pubs and active community and sporting clubs - particularly Gaelic games - alongside seasonal markets and events that reflect its rural culture. Today the economy mixes small-scale manufacturing, agriculture and commuter households, and cross‑border links with nearby towns help shape everyday social and economic life.
