Banbridge South is the southern ward of Banbridge, within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon district of Northern Ireland. Sitting on the southern side of the River Bann, it mixes suburban housing with pockets of town-centre shops and services, and benefits from road and rail links that make commuting to Belfast and Newry straightforward.
The ward reflects the town’s industrial past - Banbridge grew up around a bridge over the Bann and a historic linen trade - and today balances older streets and local businesses with newer housing and light industry. Community life is visible in local schools, sports clubs and markets, while nearby green spaces and the river give a semi-rural feel alongside the town’s retail and service economy.
