Ballymacash

Ballymacash is an electoral ward on the north‑western edge of Lisburn, within the Lisburn and Castlereagh district of Northern Ireland. It sits on the urban fringe with a largely suburban character, mixing older housing estates and newer developments and enjoying easy access to nearby green spaces associated with the Lagan Valley.

Historically the locality grew out of farmland and the broader linen and light‑industry economy that shaped Lisburn, but today most residents commute to work in the city or to Belfast. The ward retains a local, community‑oriented feel with small shops, parks and active neighbourhood groups, making it a quiet residential area with good transport links to larger centres.
