Blaris is an electoral ward within the Lisburn and Castlereagh district of Northern Ireland, covering part of the southern and eastern fringes of Lisburn. The ward mixes suburban streets with pockets of countryside and sits close to the River Lagan and the green corridors of the Lagan Valley Regional Park, giving residents fairly easy access to riverside walks and open space while remaining within commuting distance of larger towns.
Its name recalls an older civil parish and there are still traces of that history in local church sites and graveyards; economically the area combines small-scale farming, local enterprises and a sizeable commuter population travelling to Belfast or Lisburn. Community life is driven by schools, clubs and volunteer groups, so it feels like a suburban–rural fringe with a distinct local character.
