The twin villages of Ballycarry and Glynn lie on the east coast of County Antrim in the Mid and East Antrim borough of Northern Ireland, a short drive from the port town of Larne. They sit on a pleasant stretch of the Antrim coast with views towards the North Channel and sit within easy reach of coastal walking routes and quieter seafronts rather than busy tourist centres.
Both places retain a semi-rural, village character: small local shops, churches and historic stone buildings reflect long-established communities, while agriculture, local services and commuting to nearby towns sustain the local economy. There’s a modest maritime heritage and the area is popular with walkers and birdwatchers, so the social life mixes traditional village clubs and churches with people who have moved in for the coastal setting and quieter pace of life.
