New Pitsligo is a small village in rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland, lying in the agricultural landscape of Buchan. Founded as a planned settlement in the early 19th century close to the older parish of Old Pitsligo, it has the compact feel of a traditional northerly village and sits within easy reach of coastal centres such as Fraserburgh and Peterhead.
The locality is notable for Mormond Hill and its much-photographed hill figure, the White Stag, and the surrounding moorland attracts walkers and birdwatchers. Historically the economy has been rooted in farming with ancillary quarrying and peat working, and today the community maintains village amenities and events that give it a lively, neighbourly character despite the pressures facing many rural settlements.
