Map of the UK

Pabay is a small, low-lying island in the Inner Hebrides, lying close off the coast of the Isle of Skye in Highland. It’s characterised by grassy slopes, rocky shores and sheltered inlets rather than dramatic peaks, and offers broad views back to Skye and across the sea lochs that define this part of the west coast.

Historically the island was used for grazing and small-scale crofting and you can still make out old field walls and occasional ruins that hint at past habitation. Today it is generally uninhabited, visited seasonally by shepherds, birdwatchers and day-trippers, and valued locally for its wildlife, quiet anchorage and its role in the wider crofting and maritime landscape of the Hebrides.
