The Mold South ward covers the southern side of the county town of Mold in Flintshire, Wales. It is largely residential, with a mix of Victorian terraces and more recent estates, sitting beside the wooded valley of the River Alyn and within easy reach of the rolling hills of the Clwydian Range.
Locally the area shares in Mold’s strong market‑town character – independent shops, weekly markets and cultural draws such as Theatr Clwyd – while employment is a mix of retail, public sector and light industry, with many residents commuting to Wrexham or Chester. The town has a rich past too: the famous Bronze Age gold cape was found nearby at Bryn yr Ellyllion and is now in the British Museum, a reminder of the long history beneath modern streets and community life.
