Mynydd Isa is a village in Flintshire, north‑east Wales, whose name literally means “lower mountain” in Welsh. It sits on higher ground a few miles from the county town of Mold, giving pleasant views over the surrounding countryside and making it a popular residential and commuter spot for people working in nearby Wrexham and Chester.
Primarily a residential community with local shops, schools and community facilities, Mynydd Isa retains a village atmosphere while being well connected to larger towns. Like much of the area it has links to the region’s industrial and agricultural past, and today local clubs, events and green spaces form an important part of social life.
