Narberth is a compact market town and community in Pembrokeshire, Wales, set among rolling farmland a short distance inland from the coast. It has medieval origins and grew around a Norman motte and market; its older Welsh name, Arberth, even appears in the Mabinogion, giving the town a neat literary and historic resonance.
Today Narberth is best known for a lively high street of independent shops, cafes and galleries, a strong local food and crafts scene with regular markets and festivals, and a small local museum that celebrates the area’s past. The local economy leans on tourism, niche retail and services, and the town is a popular base for exploring the surrounding countryside and the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
