Churchstoke is a village and community in Powys, Wales, sitting on the border with England in the rolling hills of the Welsh Marches. It occupies a rural spot on the A489 between Newtown and Craven Arms, with easy access to the heath and hill-country of the Long Mynd and the small market town of Bishop's Castle just over the border.
Historically part of Montgomeryshire, the village has a traditional parish church at its heart and a largely agricultural economy supplemented by local services, small businesses and outdoor tourism - walkers and riders are drawn by the neighbouring hills. Socially it feels like a classic tight-knit border community, with village halls, pubs and events that reflect both Welsh and Marches traditions.
