Forden is a small village and community in Powys, Wales, lying close to Welshpool in the historic county of Montgomeryshire. It sits by the floodplain of the River Severn and alongside the A483, which gives straightforward road links to larger centres such as Shrewsbury.
Traditionally an agricultural parish, Forden still feels like a rural village with a parish church, village hall and a tight-knit community; it once had a local railway station that closed in the 1960s. Local life is shaped by farming, a few small businesses and commuting to nearby towns, with country walks and the surrounding farmland defining much of its character.
