Duhonw is a small, sparsely populated rural parish in central Powys in mid-Wales, lying within the old county of Radnorshire. The landscape is classic upland Welsh countryside of rolling pastures, hedgerows and stone walls with scattered farms and a few hamlets; quiet lanes and good walking country are characteristic, and the parish sits within easy reach of market towns such as Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells.
Economically the area remains dominated by sheep and cattle farming, although many holdings have diversified into holiday lets, small-scale forestry and conservation work. The parish retains a strong sense of rural history and community, with ancient field patterns, a parish church at its heart and local events and stewardship projects that reflect a close-knit, predominantly agricultural way of life.
