Llandrindod Wells sits in central Powys within rolling Mid Wales, beside the River Ithon. It grew in the 19th century as a Victorian spa town and still bears that heritage in its pump rooms, promenades and period architecture.
Today it acts as a local administrative and service centre for the surrounding rural area, with public-sector employment balanced by tourism, independent shops, cafés and cultural venues; the nearby countryside also attracts walkers and cyclists. Socially the town blends long-standing local families, newer arrivals and retirees, supported by active community groups and seasonal events that keep the centre lively.
