Trefeglwys is a small rural community in Powys, mid‑Wales, set on the western fringes of the rolling uplands of the Cambrian Mountains and not far from the market town of Llanidloes. The landscape is characterised by patchwork pasture, hedgerows and moorland, making it a quiet spot for walking, birdwatching and other outdoor pursuits typical of this part of Wales.
Historically the name means “town of the church” and the settlement has a long agricultural heritage; sheep and cattle farming and some forestry remain important to the local economy. Socially it’s a small, close‑knit community with traditional stone buildings, a parish church and occasional local events that reflect Welsh rural traditions rather than any large commercial development.
