Baildon is a town and civil parish in the metropolitan borough of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, perched on the edge of moorland above the River Aire valley. It lies a few miles north of Bradford city centre and close to Shipley and Saltaire, with easy access to Baildon Moor, the nearby Ilkley Moor and features such as Shipley Glen that make it popular for walking and outdoor recreation; the surrounding moorland also contains prehistoric burial mounds and old packhorse routes.
Historically the area expanded in the 19th century with the woollen and textile trades and still shows stone-built terraces and Victorian villas; today it largely functions as a commuter community for Bradford and Leeds while retaining a strong local identity, active community groups and sports clubs. The parish mixes suburban streets, local shops and green spaces, with a visible industrial heritage alongside recreational attractions on the moors and riverside.
