Baildon is a ward in the metropolitan borough of Bradford, in West Yorkshire, sitting on the edge of the Aire valley beneath Baildon Moor. The area mixes stone-built Victorian and Edwardian housing with suburban developments and ribbons of green space; nearby Shipley Glen and the River Aire provide popular walking routes, while rail links give regular services into Bradford and Leeds.
Historically shaped by quarrying and the woollen and textile trades, the ward still shows that industrial heritage in old mill buildings and local stone architecture. Today it functions largely as a commuter community with independent shops, pubs and sports clubs, but also attracts visitors for its moorland scenery, outdoor activities and an active local civic life.
