Brislington West is a ward in south‑east Bristol, covering part of the suburban area of Brislington centred around the busy Bath Road. The neighbourhood is largely residential with a mix of Victorian terraces, post‑war housing and more recent developments, interspersed with pockets of green space and within easy reach of the River Avon and key transport routes into Bristol city centre and towards Bath.
There’s a village‑like feel in parts, reflected in a local high street of independent shops, cafes and pubs and a number of community groups and sports clubs. Economically the ward is mainly commuter and small‑business oriented; preserving local character and green space while accommodating development has long been a focus of local debate, and community events and activism are a noticeable feature of life there.
