Beaconsfield is a handsome market town and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, set on the edge of the Chiltern Hills and roughly 23 miles from central London. Its rail link into Marylebone and easy road access have made it a prosperous commuter centre with attractive green surroundings and high property values.
The town is noted for a compact, well‑preserved Old Town of Georgian and earlier buildings, independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs, while the New Town grew up around the railway in the 19th century. Culturally it punches above its size: Beaconsfield hosts the National Film and Television School and nearby studios, and local arts events, markets and community groups give it a lively, village‑like social scene.
