Downley is a village and civil parish on the edge of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England, perched on the scarp of the Chiltern Hills. It’s centred on Downley Common, an expanse of beech woodland and chalk grassland within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering wide views across the Vale of Aylesbury.
Historically the common was used for grazing, timber and small crafts, and the settlement retains a strong local community with a village hall, pubs, a primary school and regular events. The economy is largely residential and commuter-oriented, with many people working in High Wycombe or London, while the commons and surrounding woods remain popular for walking, cycling and wildlife watching.
